Since its first edition in Africa in 2005, eLearning Africa has positioned itself as the largest and most comprehensive knowledge-sharing platform in the fields of education, training, and skill development through educational technologies. It serves as a global forum for anyone interested in education, training, and skill development in Africa. Over the years, eLearning Africa has provided thousands of professionals with cutting-edge information in a rapidly evolving world.
With over 20,692 participants from more than 100 countries worldwide, of which over 80% come from the African continent, eLearning Africa has become a crucial gathering for thought leaders, educators, and professionals. The program includes in-depth dialogues, demonstrations, knowledge exchange sessions, knowledge factories, roundtable discussions, networking sessions, debates, pre-conference workshops, and panel presentations on various topics, offering opportunities for informal networking where professionals share experiences, ideas, perspectives, and innovations.
eLearning Africa also organizes a ministerial roundtable, an annual meeting of African ministers of ICT and education discussing key themes related to education, training, skills, and technologies before the official opening of the conference.
"Revolutionizing education by investing in advanced technologies, including AI"
Scheduled from May 29 to 31, 2024, at the Kigali Convention Center in Kigali, Rwanda, the general theme of the 17th edition of eLearning Africa is: "Education as an Engine of Innovation and Investment as a Catalyst for Skills: Africa's Rapid Evolution." The main theme highlights the crucial role of education and skills in national investment and innovation plans, essential for overcoming challenges such as climate change, harnessing the 4th industrial revolution, and improving the conditions of a young and growing population.
The goal is to revolutionize education by investing in advanced technologies, including AI, to meet the needs of a dynamic African youth. "It is imperative to invest in socio-economic initiatives and in education geared towards the future. Qualified workers and educators capable of ensuring social and economic prosperity are needed. Furthermore, to ensure lasting benefits, it is vital to place innovation at the heart of our economic cycle. By investing sufficiently in advanced technologies, including AI, we can revolutionize the educational process," argue the organizers of eLearning Africa 2024. We believe that high-quality education lays the foundation for essential skill development and inspires innovative ideas. By combining indigenous knowledge with global perspectives, we can stimulate creative and innovative thinking that will secure the future of Africa. Targeted investments in future-oriented professional skills and entrepreneurship are essential to achieve the socio-economic aspirations of Agenda 2063.
