The Francophone Africa region stood out as the only African region to show year-over-year growth in both transaction volume and investor participation in 2023. Despite a significant decline in venture capital funding across the African continent, notably a 46% decrease in total funding raised to $3.5 billion across 547 transactions compared to the previous year (2022), Francophone African countries have shown resilience and emerged as key investment destinations.
